'Objective: Goldenspeak dog walking service has been created for the benefit of fur children and their parents. What parent isn’t concerned about his/her pride and joy’s comfort during the day, of his/her being able to go out while you are at work or, as the parent, being able to check on the welfare and well-being of a beloved pet? My role is to attend to her/his needs during the day and provide this assurance.

History: I have grown up with dogs. Queenie (half German Shepard , half miniature Collie), was a part of my family six months before I was born, and she and I were inseparable best friends for 15 years. Then came Gus, a very active “mutt.” He had more energy than any five-year-old child! I subsequently got married, and Gus remained with my parents. Next, was an Old English Sheepdog, Pickles, who was with us until the age of 12. He wasn’t the brightest bulb on the tree, but a loveable and faithful pet, nonetheless. Following Pickles was Cinder, a Dalmatian. Cinder arrived at my home at the age of three months after having had three prior homes, where she and I bonded immediately. She was a sweet and lovable dog. The last five years of Cinder’s life, she suffered from Cushings Disease and masticatory myositis. She was cared for and maintained on medication for that time and thanks to modern medicine and superb medical care, had an excellent quality of life. When Cinder was seven, Coffee, a Golden Retriever, joined the family at eight weeks. When Cinder passed over Rainbow Bridge at age 11, Coffee had a difficult time dealing with being alone. It took about a year to find my younger Golden, Brandy, and he arrived at our home on December 17, 2003, at age 18 months. I had gotten my dog a dog for Christmas, and he was the perfect addition!  In June, 2010, my beloved Coffee had to be euthanized. My heart was broken, and now Brandy was alone. It took about a year to find the perfect fit for our family, and that came in the form of a rescue dog from Texas, Brennan. He arrived seven years to the day when Brandy arrived. He’s a remarkable dog, and I was told when we adopted him, he was the most “wanted” dog in Texas!!! We also have become involved in dog fostering and are on our fourth foster. It’s so satisfying to have a dog adopted, do well, have a wonderful home, and know that you have been an integral part of that. In the Spring of 2016, Brandy went over Rainbow Bridge.  I miss him horribly.  Brennan is now an only dog, but I now get to spend a great deal of time with him in addition to walking my clients' dogs.  

Dog Walking Experience:  Dog walking has been a huge part of my daily life for the past 30 years, beginning with Pickles who used to go with me on my daily run. I also found Cinder to be a perfect running companion for years. Coffee began running with me until he was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia just before he turned a year old, and the running had to cease. Explaining to a puppy that he can no longer go out with you when you run is an impossible task. How can s/he understand? I didn’t have the heart to make him stay home, so the running morphed into walking, which he was able to do, and we missed very few days.
